What Oklahoma City weather does to buildings

Tornadoes and severe storms

Central Oklahoma is tornado country. The NWS Norman office documents the May 20, 2013 tornado that tracked through Newcastle, Moore and south Oklahoma City. Spring storm season brings wind, hail and tornado damage that can hit many properties in one evening.

Hail

Hail is common in Oklahoma storm season. Roofs, skylights and rooftop HVAC units all take damage, and roofers book up fast afterward.

Winter ice

Ice storms bring down trees and power lines and can freeze pipes in older buildings.

Property types

The properties managers run here

The Oklahoma City area mixes apartment communities and retail across the city with HOAs and newer neighborhoods in Edmond, Yukon and Moore. Norman has student housing around the University of Oklahoma, and Edmond around the University of Central Oklahoma, each with turnover peaks tied to the academic year.

How OnRoster works here

Joining in Oklahoma City

Status: building the roster. OnRoster is not operating in Oklahoma City yet. We are building the vendor roster here, trade by trade. Managers can join free now: on the roster form, choose “Somewhere else” and list your Oklahoma City-area properties. Contractors can apply for their market's opening by emailing the desk with your trade and the cities you cover. Applying does not hold an opening, and we will tell you when the Oklahoma City desk opens.

Managers never pay OnRoster. Contractors join free. One contractor per trade, per market, and roofing has separate commercial and residential openings. You decide who you hire; OnRoster does not perform work.
